Founder and Operator, Geraldine is originally from France. She earned a Ph.D. in environmental Physics, before deciding to drop her lab Job and attend her chronic addiction to cave diving and Exploration.
Deep Dark Diving is the birth child of this passion.
Geraldine has been an instructor since 2010 when she moved to Mexico, fell in love with the country and never looked back.
She is an active Cave explorer with projects in different areas of Mexico and beyond.

Christine Loew

SDI/TDI Instructor Trainer and Course Director, Razor Basic Cave Sidemount Instructor

Originally from Germany, Christine founded Diving Caves in Playa del Carmen after leaving a corporate career in 2001. With over 6,000 dives and nearly 30 years of experience, she specializes in recreational, technical, and cave diving, training and Instructor training.

She offers private, performance-based training in German, English, and Spanish, focusing on safety, confidence, and professional development. Christine also mentors divers and instructors aiming for international careers.

Daniel Gonzalez

Daniel González brings over 25 years of experience in diver education, having certified more than 1,000 students and over 100 instructors across various levels. A passionate cave diver and Instructor Trainer, his professional journey began as a climber and paramedic—experiences that shaped his strong focus on risk management, leadership, and decision-making under pressure.
As co-founder of APE Divers Academy and one of only 27 SDI Instructor Trainer Ambassadors worldwide, Daniel is dedicated to training safe, confident dive professionals. His passion and expertise continue to inspire divers at every stage of their journey.

Norma Enríquez

Aka. Wonder Woman

Originally from Mexico City with a background in Business Administration, Norma built her career as an executive in the film industry before moving to the Riviera Maya. In 2020 she founded Focus Dive Tech, where she combines her expertise in technical diving, logistics, and premium gear distribution. An official distributor and trusted partner of leading brands including Xdeep, Razor, Divesoft, BigBlue, ScubaPro, Apeks, Shearwater, Garmin, Dive Rite and more, Norma delivers tailored solutions with precision, versatility, and handles complex challenges with the ease and finesse of a gourmet enjoying a Michelin-starred meal.

Mauricio

Photographer, Cave Diver

Born in Costa Rica, Mauricio is a technical diver and underwater photographer with a profound passion for cave exploration. From the moment he took his first breath underwater, it was clear that diving would shape both his career and creative path.

What began as a drive for exploration led him deep into the intricate cave systems and cenotes of Mexico — environments that demand precision, control, and a deep respect for the unknown. It was within these submerged worlds that photography took on a powerful new role: not just as a way to document dives, but as a means to capture and share the silent beauty of places few people will ever experience firsthand.

Her Royal Majesty and Divine Reincarnation of Bastet,

Nena is our full-time supervisor and blesses us mere mortals with her presence, making sure we wake up before the Sun (that she herself, no doubt, also wakes and sets).
She is our quality control manager for any and every aspect of Deep Dark Diving operations on a daily basis.

Laska

aka "Sweetness"

Laska is... Laska. Has a cave named in her honour, not that she could really care since it isn't inhabited by squirrels.
Shows up at the Dive shop from time to time, never long enough to do anything worth firing her for.
She will look at the phone if it rings, or maybe not.
Likes running after things, although never long enough to catch them... Might as well be called "Fur ball of absolute positivism & sweetness" but we kept it short; bluntly put: Laska.
